The founding of the club

The Bronte’s story kicks off in the early 1960’s, right next to the legendary Bullring in the heart of a buzzing neighbourhood.

What started as a boys boxing club quickly packed a bigger punch (pun intended). As the city’s needs grew, so did we, opening our doors to the entire community and becoming a vibrant hub for everyone of all ages.

The impact of the moores' family

The Bronte wouldn’t be here today without a serious helping hand from the amazing Moores family.

Back in the 60’s, they believed in our vision and put their money where their hearts are, helping us build our Centre from the ground up and funding our first wave of activities. Their support gave us the solid foundations we’re still standing on today. We’ve grown a lot since then, but we’ll always be grateful for the Moores’ spark that got The Bronte journey started.
